Britannia English Academy offers classes of a guaranteed maximum of 8 students. We offer General English classes for all levels from starter to advanced as well as conversation classes at all levels which focus on developing speaking and listening skills.
We also offer exam preparation classes for Cambridge First, Advanced and IELTS. All teachers at Britannia are qualified with a CELTA or Trinity TESOL or have international teaching experience. Our teachers have taught in a variety of countries including Japan, Argentina, Poland and Spain.
All of our students are assessed regularly and given face to face feedback via a progress review. At the end of their stay each student is given a final assessment and report of their progress.
Outside of the classroom we have a social programme which includes a weekly conversation club in a local pub, a weekly local trip as well as regularly organised trips to other areas of the UK. We have a large social room in school where students can relax and enjoy free tea and coffee as well as an IT room and a study room for private study. There is free WI-FI throughout the school.
We offer a range of accommodation to our students. The first option is a home-stay with a local family where students can enjoy their experience under the support and guidance of their hosts. We also offer rooms in halls of residence which include a communal lounge and kitchen area.
Our reception staff are also on hand to make sure the students’ time at school is as comfortable as possible, assisting with lesson bookings and offering advice on course choices. They also offer welfare support both with problems within school and as far as possible any problems that may arise outside of school during their stay in the UK.
We also have disabled access for students with mobility problems with a lift to gain entrance to the school as well as internal lifts to move between floors.
