Brighton & Worthing
Brighton is the biggest town on the UK's south coast with a population of 290,000.
Brighton is famous for its wonderful beach, independent music scene, cool shops and nightlife. It is a very popular daytrip for Londoners. With two universities and several English language schools, Brighton has a large population of international students and lots of social activities to offer.
You can also study English in the smaller, relaxed town of Worthing, 10 miles west along the coast from Brighton.
Hastings and Eastbourne
Hastings and Eastbourne are seaside towns in East Sussex with a relaxed pace of life, where you can find lots of independent shops, pubs and restaurants. The area has some spectacular coastal walks and is home to the UK's highest chalk sea cliff, Beachy Head.
Broadstairs and Margate
Broadstairs and Margate are neighbouring seaside towns in Kent that have golden sandy beaches.
Margate is home to Dreamland amusement park and the Turner Contemporary art gallery, plus lots of hip cafes and shops. Broadstairs is a traditional seaside town with a Victorian promenade, ice cream parlours and retro cinema.

Chichester is a small cathedral city near the coast in West Sussex. It's a relaxed place surrounded by beautiful countryside, pretty fishing villages and sandy beaches. From here, Brighton and Portsmouth are easy daytrips.

Ramsgate is a seaside town in Kent, with a sandy beach, pretty harbour area and lots of cafes, bars and restaurants on the waterfront.
The town is home to the largest vintage and antiques market in the region and also the UK's largest Weatherspoons pub, where you can eat and drink with views over the beach.
Study English in Canterbury
Canterbury is a city in the county of Kent, famous as the home of the headquarters of the Church of England: Canterbury Cathedral.
It was a pilgrimage site in the Middle Ages and it has a well-preserved city centre with lots of very old buildings. Canterbury is now a popular regional destination for tourism and shopping. Nearby is the pretty seaside town of Whistable, which hosts a famous Oyster festival.
