Founded in 1978 by Suzanne Sparrow, the school was established to provide a friendly, family environment in which students could feel at ease to improve their English language skills. Situated in a beautiful part of England and close to Plymouth City Centre and University campus, the school is well placed for educational and cultural stays.
Full board homestay accommodation is provided and is personally selected by the student support team to suit all needs.
On arrival at the school students are given a placement test or it can be taken on-line prior to arrival. During the course student progress is checked weekly.
The school is an authorised centre for Cambridge Examinations. Preparation courses for IELTS and other examinations are also available all year round.
The school operates a full social programme which includes many cultural and sporting activities. Theatre trips, cinema and pub evenings are arranged regularly along with full day excursions at the weekends. These include visits to typical Cornish fishing villages, major cities of the South of England and the beautiful surrounding countryside ie Dartmoor National Park and local beaches and seaside towns.
Individuals and groups of students are welcomed on the Intensive Language Programmes or special tailor-made courses which run throughout the year.
The safeguarding of juniors and vulnerable adults is a paramount importance. All staff receive Safeguarding Training and we have a Welfare Officer and a Prevent and Health and Safety Officer
