English Country Schools is a well-established summer school organisation for children and teenagers. English Language teaching is combined with a fully inclusive programme of sports, social activities and excursions in some of England's finest countryside. Golf and tennis lessons are available at extra cost. On each course in order to encourage the use of English a maximum of 5 boys and 5 girls are accepted with the same mother tongue. Most courses take place at Port Regis School in Dorset. Port Regis is set in large, private grounds near the small market town of Shaftesbury in the South of England, about two hours from London.

All students eat, sleep and receive lessons in the school. Excellent facilities include golf course, tennis courts, all-weather hockey pitch, a new academic centre, a large sports hall and indoor heated swimming pool. Bushcraft camps, a weekend in London and outdoor adventure activities are available at extra charge.

There are separate courses for three different age groups. This allows older and younger children to attend together while ensuring that each course has a distinct identity, with levels of supervision and course content being suitable for each age group.
