English UK is now accepting proposals to speak at the 2011 ELT Teachers' Conference taking place on Saturday 13 November at Prospero House, London. Proposals are invited for plenary sessions, discussion themes and workshops and the deadline for submitting these is Friday 19 August 2011.

The process of preparing the English UK training programme for the 2011/2012 academic year has started. Submit a proposal to run a training day in the 2011/2012 academic year and play your part in the important supply of professional development to the sector.

Tony Millns told the annual conference that the Government's target of closing up to a thousand private colleges risks causing great reputational damage to the rest of the sector. However, there were still helpful trends for the UK sector, including the exchange rate.
