Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announced today that international travel from England will no longer be illegal from 17 May 2021 but strict border control measures will remain in place.

The Global Travel Taskforce has set out its framework for the safe return of international travel. While we are pleased that the government has maintained its aim for international travel to start from 17 May, we are disappointed by some aspects of the report.
