Founded in 1966, the Isca School of English stands in quiet gardens, 10 minutes on foot from Exeter city centre. It is a family-organised one centre school offering personal attention and excellent teaching. The school was awarded 13 strengths in its British Council inspection in July 2017, including teaching, care of under 18s, accommodation, leisure opportunities, learning resources, course design, premises and facilities, academic, staff and learner management, care of students, student administration and quality assurance.
At Isca, we offer courses for juniors aged 14-17 in June, July, August and early September.
We offer a complete package with English classes, sports, activities and excursions all included in the cost. We meet you at: London Heathrow, Bristol and Exeter airports. Our staff will meet your flight, look after you at the airport and also help you check in on departure too.
The Principal organises accommodation in English homes for you and visits and inspects all the homes herself. You can choose to have a single room, a twin room with a friend, or a twin room with another Isca student of a different nationality so you have to speak English together – a very good cultural experience!
The Isca School is in Exeter, the regional capital and cultural centre of South West England. Exeter is a friendly, safe, cathedral city and a very good place to study English. It is known as ‘the city in the country’ because it is a small city surrounded by green hills that you can see from the modern centre. It is easy to find your way around Exeter.
Exeter is in the county of Devon, a beautiful holiday region. On our excursions, we take you to visit our sandy beaches, the Jurassic Coast at Sidmouth, the high moors of Dartmoor and also attractions like the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath, Longleat with its safari park and the fishing villages of Cornwall. We organise an excursion to London too every fortnight at a small supplement. Please have a look at our website for more details of our courses and school!
