Description of centre
ECS SCOTLAND is an independent, family-run school of English conveniently located in Edinburgh city centre, easily reached from all areas of the city. The school is surrounded by a large selection of cafes, shops, bus stops, parks and tourist attractions.
ECS Scotland specialises in intensive one-to-one and small group courses for professional people who need to communicate in English for work or study. Guaranteed maximum of 5 students per group. Small groups mean that every student has the best possible opportunity to participate and learn in every class.
All General English courses focus primarily on developing and building vocabulary and speaking and listening communication skills. Grammar, reading and writing skills are covered as necessary for each group or in 1-to-1 lessons.
Exam Preparation (IELTS, CAE, FCE, TOLES, TOEIC, BULATS) courses also have a maximum of 5 students per group and are available throughout the year, courses coincide with the main exam dates.
English for specific purposes such as Business, Finance, Medicine, Marketing, Tourism and Environmental Science courses are available from beginner to advanced levels.
ECS Scotland is a TOLES (Test of Legal English Skills) examination centre and offers intensive Legal English courses throughout the year.
All courses include one afternoon excursion per week to a place of cultural interest, inside or outside Edinburgh. These excursions enable all students to practise their speaking and listening outside the classroom and to see some of Scotland's natural beauty, even if they only stay for one week.
Courses are available throughout the year, starting any Monday and finishing any Friday, for 1 - 12 weeks. For courses of 13+ weeks, please contact us to check availability.
Homestay accommodation is available with friendly native speaker hosts and in conveniently located areas. Hotel recommendations are available on request.
