What role do educators have in protecting nature? Take part in our survey about environmental action and sustainability in UK ELT
We have opened our first survey about protecting nature and our planet, and are looking for as many responses as possible from UK ELT organisations to give us a detailed understanding of UK English language teaching and environmental action.
We are at the beginning of our green journey and need your input to better understand action and opportunities for sustainability in our sector, and to make sure we provide the best possible support to our members and sector.
All entries will be entered into a prize draw for a free delegate place at our 2022 Marketing Conference taking place on 30 September at the Hilton in London's Canary Wharf.
We know it isn't easy to find the time and resources to take environmental action. That's why we want to hear from everyone in our industry, whether you have never thought about your environmental impact before or have years of experience to share.
Your responses will help us understand what action is already being taken, what challenges organisations face and how we can work together to improve our sector's impact locally and globally.
At the end of 2021, our board of trustees named sustainability as one of our core values and a primary goal for our association. In January 2022, we published our first environmental action plan. It is clear that climate change cannot be ignored, but what further action should we take as a sector to play our part in protecting the planet?
Who is this survey for?
This survey is for everyone working in or for the UK ELT sector, so please complete it and forward it to your colleagues and partners to give us a rich view of our sector. All responses are handled by a third party; no identifying details will be shared.
All entries will be entered into a prize draw for a free delegate place at our 2022 Marketing Conference taking place on 30 September at the Hilton in London's Canary Wharf.
What kind of information does the survey ask for?
The survey asks for your opinions, views and feedback. You should be able to complete the survey without any preparation and do not need to any figures about student numbers, energy consumption etc.
We are looking for your opinions about UK ELT's role, what action your organisation has or could take, and what barriers you face. We also ask for feedback on our environmental action plan and for your opinion on different actions we could take as UK ELT's national association
What is the English UK environmental action plan?
Our action plan is our first step in taking environmental responsibility. It outlines our initial goals to become a sustainable organisation. It lays out our commitment to transforming our practices, from reducing emissions to a shift in office culture, and to supporting and encouraging action across our sector.
We are committed to:
- measuring and reporting our environmental impact
- reducing our emissions and negative environmental impact
- developing and increasing our positive environment impact
- supporting and amplifying green action in our membership and sector
- lobbying for environmental action that supports our industry.
