Pauline Chardon is 23 and comes from Belgium. She is studying English with internship for six months at English UK member centre, British Study Centres Brighton.
What made you want to study English in the UK?
My first idea was to go to Australia but my parents spoke to me and I realised it was perhaps better to come to England, because the English here is better than in Australia or America and most people from my country come here to study English.
I need to learn English to find a job, and I was thinking it is better to learn in an English country. I could learn in my country but it's not the same. Here, it's very good because I meet people everywhere speaking English.
What made you come to Brighton?
I worked with an agency to find the school. She offered me different cities in the UK, and I preferred Brighton because it is little.
Why did you want to do English with an internship?
I need to have the experience. I'm doing three months in school learning English, followed by three months internship at an events agency. I studied PR in my country and events is connected.
Are you enjoying your stay?
I like it here and I am very happy. People here are very nice. If I have a problem I can speak to people on the street and it's very good. The city is good too. There are a lot of things to do and we can take time to enjoy them and have fun. The school is good too and I live in a student house.
Would you recommend coming here to your friends?
Yes, I think it's a good experience to come here and improve your English for work.
