Three ideas for creative students who want to study English in the UK
There are 29 Further Education colleges that are members of English UK.
These colleges offer English language classes for international students, but their course offer is much broader than a typical English language school.
Further education colleges offer government-funded vocational, creative and academic courses for adults, and international students can also take advantage of these specialist programmes.
This means colleges are a great option for students who want to study another skill or qualification, alongside their English lessons. Colleges often offer international students the chance to study alongside native English speakers.
We take a look at three of the creative courses offered by English UK member colleges in 2020:
#1 English with Art and Design at East Sussex College
East Sussex College offers year-round English plus courses, with additional subjects including Art and Design, English Literature, Travel and Tourism, Film Studies, GSCE and A Level Studies and Sports Academies.
#2 English Plus Hairdressing at Guildford College
At Guildford College, students can study general English in the mornings with other international students and then join classes of UK students for vocational courses on some afternoons. Additional subjects include golf, equine, hairdressing, beauty and travel and tourism.
#3 British Baking courses at Gloucestershire College
Gloucestershire College create short courses for groups, which usually include General English lessons plus cultural visits, vocational practical training and activities of your choice.
