English UK has activated our Student Emergency Scheme (SES) to support those who were studying at member centre One to One English when it closed on Friday 30 August.
The scheme relies upon centres accredited by Accreditation UK offering alternative places to students whose centres have closed unexpectedly.
As this centre specialised in one-to-one and part-time lessons (often timed around students' other commitments), it is proving challenging to find alternative provision for the students but we are continuing to work on this.
On the day that One to One English emailed students and English UK to tell them of the closure, we contacted all accredited centres in London to ask whether they would be able to teach any of the students under the terms of the SES, and contacted the students asking if they needed us to help.
As of Monday 9 September, around 30 students had done so and so far we have placed a third of these on alternative courses at accredited centres.
