Linguist David Crystal is giving the opening plenary at an industry conference in Somerset this October.
The English UK South West annual conference and AGM also has elective sessions aimed at teachers, managers, academic managers, marketers, student services officers and business staff. Sessions on offer include a workshop on innovation in the classroom, principles for principals, customer service, 1-2-1 teaching and a Q and A with David Crystal.
It is one of many quality-raising activities organised by English UK's specialist subgroups.
The day, an established event on the English UK South West calendar, will be held at Millfield School in Street, Somerset, on Saturday 21 October.
It is open to both members and non-members of the regional group. Each member centre can apply for up to four free tickets, with all other tickets £30.
