UK ELT centres are being given the tools to compete globally online with a dedicated digital marketing course, aimed at beginners.
English UK's hands-on ELT Digital Marketing Bootcamp has been created by industry specialists Disquiet Dog to help ELT centres, giving a practical grounding in just two days.
"We want to help our members build their worldwide digital presence, supporting them to succeed and thrive as markets change," said Jodie Gray, English UK's head of market development.
"We know some English UK members struggle to with finding the time or resources to develop their online marketing presence.
"Our intensive Bootcamp gives centres everything they need to compete profitably online, from planning and embedding digital change to the basic skills around content production and analytics. It's not about spending vast amounts of money on technology, but understanding how to put digital marketing at the heart of the business in a cost-effective way.
"Disquiet Dog has grown from the ELT industry and really understands members' needs and challenges, so we're expecting lots of interest in this course."
The Bootcamp, which is aimed at staff with limited training working on ELT centre websites and social media, will give an overview of digital marketing as well as plenty of practice in hands-on sessions.
It covers Google Analytics, website and CMS management, social media and how to write copy to appeal to both search engines and potential customers. Delegates on the course will apply much of the content to their own centre, including creating a keywords list from the programme list, and considering a digital strategy and how to plan and embed change.
The ELT Digital Marketing Bootcamp will help members analyse their practice, raise awareness of commercial opportunities and evolve their business to use new approaches profitably.
The course is being run by English UK with the British Council, costs £750. This first ELT Digital Marketing Bootcamp is for beginners.
