Get ahead on marketing for 2016 and beyond (and save some money as well)
22 December 2015

In challenging times for our industry, quality ELT marketing is crucial. So we're delighted to have created our best English UK Marketeing Conference ever, packed full of great sessions to help you assess future trends, get practical help with social media, and find out what students really want, with insight from top industry experts.

And we're giving discounts on places booked before Friday 8 January by member centres, making this a doubly unmissable deal.

Highlights of the day include a plenary session from Jackie Kassteen, director of ICEF Monitor, on where millennials - the core group of international students -  seek out information and how they decide where to study. We're delighted that Jackie is joining us: her breadth and depth of knowledge has made her a hugely popular speaker at previous English UK events.

The PIE will also bring one of its popular student panel sessions to London for the first time, with the chance to get direct insight about the choices they make and why. And student marketing expert Samuel Vetrak will be presenting his analysis of trends to be prepared for during the next five years.

Finally, non-delegates also get the chance to join us at the end of the day for the launch of the latest market report in the English UK/ British Council series, on Mexico.

Jodie Gray, English UK's head of market development, has been involved in the programming of the event to maximise opportunities for marketing managers. She says: "It's a tricky time for the industry, and we've organised this event to help our members be successful. 2016 is all about identifying opportunities, and so is this conference."

The event includes sessions on digital/ online and social media, trends, and market information, and will be held at Etc in Bishopsgate, London, on Friday 5 February. The full programme will be published early in 2016, but highlights so far include:

  • 'UK ELT in 2015-2020: what to be prepared for' with Samuel Vetrak
  • 'No such thing as a bad review: the power of reviews in student recruitment' with Ross Holmes of ICEF Monitor
  • 'The rise of the selfie: how marketers can leverage digital trends in pop culture' with Jackie Kassteen of ICEF Monitor, Tony Lee of Study Group and Chris Price of Adventus
  • Marketing to young learners in China
  • Mexico: English UK & British Council's ELT Market Report launch

There will also be electives from Roy Cross of UKTI on bidding for high-value international contracts, and Hannah Alexander-Wright of the University of the Arts London on the SCAMPER method for changing marketing strategy.

Book your place before Friday 8 January at the discounted member rate of £185, or on or after 9 January at the full member rate of £200 and non-member rate of £260.
