English language centres in Scotland have joined forces to become English UK Scotland. The 17 centres were formerly all members of SELTIC, the independent Scottish consortium of accredited English language centres.

The English UK summer inward mission took place between Monday 26 and Friday 30 July 2010. Eighteen agents from China took part in the mission.

There are opportunities in the region for:

• sustainble education
• primary/secondary English teacher training
• curriculum design and management
• ELT in Changsha
• vocational training co-operation with Changsha schools

Immigration Minister Damian Green and UK Border Agency Chief Executive Lin Homer undertook to work with English UK and its members to look for alternative solutions to maintaining the controversial language requirement for visa-national students on English language courses.
