Reconnect with peers at the ELT Conference managers day on Wednesday 21 April
For our first online ELT conference, we're introducing new ways to reconnect digitally as an ELT community.
We'll be encouraging discussion, idea sharing and networking at our managers day on Wednesday 21 April.
Breaks you can 'natter' in
While we can't stand in line and discuss the quality of the coffee and pastries in person, we can give you digital opportunities for informal conversation.
In the breaktimes, a 'zoom hall' will be open, with breakout rooms where you can chat with other delegates. Some breakout rooms will be for discussion about a session, others with be for general chat.
Open Space sessions – where you set the agenda
After lunch, our online Open Space session is a chance to put forward your own topic for discussion.
In the morning, you can add topic suggestions to our public 'wall', and 'like' other suggestions. Groups of around six people will join a Zoom room to discuss the winning topics, and notes for each session will be shared with other delegates.
There will also be 'drop in' sessions with some of our speakers - including BestStart HR for your HR issues, Liz McLaren from Accreditation UK and Jameela Mohamed of EF Brighton who will be talking about BAME representation in management.
Create a team for the virtual pub quiz
After a long day of learning, join our virtual pub quiz. Team up with colleagues, ELT peers or your smartest friends. Bring drinks and snacks of your choice and as much general knowledge as you can muster. There might even be a creative task or two.
Pay what you can to attend
To make the event accessible to members during these difficult times, we are offering 'pay what you can' pricing, with a suggested contribution of £85 per person.
Note before booking - English UK members need to enter their member number in the 'promo code' field at the top of the Eventbrite booking form, to enable registration for the managers day.
Invite your colleagues to the teachers day
Invite your teachers to our free teachers day on Thursday 22 April, a full day of sessions on teaching approaches, sustainability, inclusion and more. You can share the link to the same booking form, or register teachers when you book as a manager.
