Asian markets: succeed by understanding how to work with the changing demographics
15 April 2015

Future-proof your business in some of the biggest Asian markets by attending a very practical Annual Conference session with top industry analyst Jackie Kassteen.

Jackie, Director of ICEF Monitor, will have plenty of information on the trends in the South Korean, Japanese and Chinese markets - and plenty of advice for centres on how to not just survive but thrive, attracting the millennium generation.

"Most importantly, we're going to make sure your recruitment remains healthy and will produce good results. We'll look at some of the best marketing techniques which work well in the countries you're targeting and make sure that if numbers fall, your numbers won't fall," says Jackie.

She will tell the English UK Annual Conference, to be held at the Midland Q hotel in Manchester on 11 and 12 May, that while the challenges demographics and economics are posing in certain Asian markets is well-documented and potentially detrimental, there is still a great deal of enrolment potential for education providers who know how to market themselves.

The trick is to learn what messages appeal to young consumers in the region, and make use of them. "These are massive markets and we are heavily dependent on these markets. There's quite a lot being said now about diversifying and that's important, because if you get massive changes in a couple of your good markets you can find yourself in a precarious spot," she says. "It's about looking at what's coming five or ten years ahead, and planning for that. It's about the messages you use, the social media platforms, and being aware of the changes."

Other sessions from the Annual Conference include an extended AGM and chance to debate English UK's future strategy, feedback from our first-ever membership survey, an introduction to our new public affairs experts, and the latest information on visas, young learners and much more.
