Susan Young, External Relations Manager

Working with external stakeholders and industry partners, organising English UK's campaigning, report-writing and supporting lobbying efforts are all part of Susan's role. She also keeps members in touch with English UK's lobbying and campaigning and important developments with regular external relations newsletters, and is responsible for press releases and media liaison.

Susan combines work for English UK with being a freelance education journalist. Since graduating from York University, her career in journalism and the media has included working for national newspapers including The Observer, The Guardian and the Daily Express and organisations including non-departmental government bodies and the National Association of Head Teachers. She spent more than a decade on the Times Educational Supplement, where she was an assistant editor.
