UK arrivals from France, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands must quarantine for 14 days
The UK government has now removed France, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, the Turks and Caicos Islands and Aruba from the approved travel list due to spikes in Coronavirus cases in these countries.
This means that anyone arriving in the UK from these countries after 04:00 on Saturday 15 August will need to self-isolate for 14 days.
English UK interim CEO Jodie Gray commented:
"This is another devastating blow to UK ELT, already suffering from the worst crisis in its history. The uncertainty created by the current policy of weekly changes to approved travel lists risks a further erosion of confidence among all prospective ELT students wherever they are coming from. While public health always comes first, we urge the government to consider alternatives to its blanket approach, such as implementing an airport testing regime for UK arrivals that would mean anyone testing negative would avoid the need to quarantine."
