Educators and agents attending Quality English's Barcelona workshop have raised around £900 for the Eddie Byers Fund - thank you!
Around a hundred people from 22 countries took part in a raffle and games at the event's gala dinner. This generous donation will mean we've raised over £12,000 for life-changing language projects this year! Most of this fundraising was for our Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in October.
Quality English's Chief Executive Jonathan Swindell says: "The Eddie Byers Fund is something which is close to all of our hearts and we were delighted to raise over €1000 on the night through the games and donations." Praising English UK Board Member Spencer Fordham, who ran the games and raffle during the evening, he adds: "Without Spencer's infectious humour and enthusiasm this wouldn't have been possible."
The boost to the Fund comes at the third anniversary of the death of Eddie Byers, the late chief executive of English UK. The fund in his memory exists to transform life chances through the learning of English and awards up to £2,500 to projects run by UK-registered charities each year.
If you would like to contribute we are still fundraising to the end of the year:
