How do you negotiate with your mates? Access the Chinese market? Decide whether direct booking websites are worth it? And – the million-pound question for ELT schools – what's going to happen to your business in 2018?
We'll attempt to answer all these questions, and more, in the English UK Marketing Conference on Friday 9 January. No other event is aimed specifically at ELT marketers.
Look out for plenaries from Linda Moir, whose creation of the volunteer Games Maker teams at London 2012 sold the UK to the world and Sahar Hashemi, an entrepreneurship guru who founded the Coffee Republic chain, and who has lots to say on identifying and seizing opportunities and creating an entrepreneurial mindset.
Other whole-conference sessions include the launch of our practical report on the Thai market, and a unique chance to improve your public speaking, communication and other soft skills through a drama workshop with actor Adam Milford.
Outside those sessions, there's plenty of choice across five different strands: market information, digital marketing, branding, negotiating and global perspectives including trends and delivering ELT overseas.
The latest to be announced include:
- Hannah Alexander-Wright on negotiating with your mates: how do you turn down a high commission request from a partner who has just invited you to his daughter's wedding?
- Richard Bradford on whether to market through agents/direct bookings or directory websites
- Philippe Taza on digital marketing
- Ross Holmes of ICEF on tempting students to your website
- Samuel Vetrak of StudentMarketing on what to expect in 2018, with the latest trends, source market and other data.
That's on top of previously announced sessions including specialist market discussions on Japan, Turkey and China: for the full timetable, see below.
All of this, including delicious refreshments, breakfast and lunch, and a post-event drinks reception, can be yours for the English UK member price of £290 (and £350 for those who haven't joined us).
