All Young Learner members are accredited by the British Council and are members of English UK. The group meets three times a year with a very active committee driving the group forward.

We know how hard you work to choose the right school for your client. You know that the Accreditation scheme helps to ensure high standards. Schools that are members of Young Learners special interest group go above and beyond this by ensuring they not only meet Accreditation standards, but also seek and benefit from additional advice and specialist training in the care and education of under 18s.

This year YLSIG has offered safeguarding and safer recruitment sessions and also advice on training group leaders; working with students with specific learning difficulties; and addressing cross-cultural issues. The YLSIG has shared information on the latest legislation regarding visas, data protection, and best practices among schools. In this way the YLSIG has helped to enhance the safety and wellbeing of the young people in member schools.
