Password English Language Testing design, develop, and deliver world class on-line testing services. Our first test, Password Knowledge, launched in 2008, and is widely used for admission to pre-university programmes and for student screening. The Password Skills test launched in 2014 and is used for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate university courses in place of a traditional “Test Centre” test.

Password tests occupy a unique position in the English language test market. Tests are sold directly to universities, colleges, schools and other organisations enabling them to deliver high quality “gold standard” testing under their control wherever and whenever they wish. Password tests are CEFR aligned and are extremely cost effective.

Password tests are used for a number of purposes including:

• end of course and progress testing
• Post Enrolment Language Assessment (screening) on arrival

Password tests are academically designed and managed by CRELLA (the Centre for Research in English Language Learning and Assessment) at the University of Bedfordshire. Founded by Professor Cyril Weir OBE, CRELLA are a research group of world leading experts in testing and assessment with a well-established national and international reputation for excellence.
